Q1. How much will I earn when my pics are sold?
We always give you the lion’s share of the proceeds. The amount you get depends on the pic’s selling price.
The minimum price you can set is $0.99. At this price, you will receive 2/3 or 66.67% of the proceeds when your pic is sold.
When you set the price of your pic between $0.99 and $100, we calculate your earnings according to this formula:
A = (90/100 - 2/3) / (100 - 0.99)
B = 90/100 – A * 100
P = Price that you set
Your earnings ($) = P * (A * P + B)
When you set the price of your pic at $100 or higher, you will get a constant 90% of all sale proceeds.
Here’s a graph showing how it works:
Q2. For Sell-My-Pics, how is the price of my pic calculated?
You will be able to set the price of your pic within a minimum price and a maximum price determined by the system.
The minimum price is always $0.99 per pic.
The maximum price is based on the history of how well your pics have been selling. Every time you successfully sell 3 pics, the maximum price will increase to 1.3 times the average price of those 3 pics. However if this value is lower than the existing maximum price, the maximum price remains unchanged.
For example, if you have just sold 3 pics at $0.99 each, and your current maximum price is $0.99, your new maximum price will be
1.3*((0.99+0.99+0.99)/3) = $1.29.
Q3. How is the minimum price of my pic calculated?
The minimum price is always $0.99 per pic.
Q4. Do I have to go through any activation process or pay any fee before embedding pics to sell on my websites?
No. But do remember to log in before copying the embedding codes. This will allow us to generate unique embedding codes for you and pay you when the pics are sold from your websites.
Q5. How do I sell other members' pics?
You can sell any pic that another member has put up for sale by following these steps:
1. Check that you are logged in.
2. Copy the embedding codes of the pic(s) you want to sell and paste them on your website.
When the embedded pics are sold from your website, you will earn money.
Q6. How much do I earn from selling other members’ pics?
3% of the selling price of that pic.
Q7. How about if I embed my own pics?
If your own embedded pics are sold, you will earn an extra 3% of the selling price!
Q8. How do I get paid?
Whenever a pic is sold, your earnings are credited into your Phlook account.
You can withdraw your earnings anytime. Currently we can only transfer your earnings to a PayPal account. If you don’t already have one, create an account at http://www.paypal.com/.
You can withdraw your earnings here, when your earnings balance is more than $3.00. If the amount withdrawn is less than $100.00, an administrative fee of $3.00 will be imposed. If the amount withdrawn is $100.00 and above, the administrative fee will be waived.
If your account has $100.00 and above at the beginning of the month we will automatically transfer your earnings to your PayPal account.
Q9. What is Royalty-free?
Royalty-free means that the buyer of your pic can use it according to our Content License Agreement without having to pay you or Phlook any royalties for each use.
